About MISSU

The Scientific Wing of the Integrated Health and Social Services Foundation, represented by the Minimal Invasive Surgery Society of Upper Egypt (MISSUE), was established in 2017 to advance the scientific and technical skills of doctors in South Upper Egypt. Since its inception, it has been dedicated to fostering cultural, scientific, and training initiatives in the field of minimally invasive surgery.

Overview

The association’s journey of cultural, scientific, and training endeavors continues to flourish. Notable examples include

Hosting an annual scientific conference for doctors in South Upper Egypt from 2017 to 2020. The event paused in 2021 due to the pandemic but resumed in February 2023, featuring the President of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Organizing training courses on gynecological surgical endoscopy across multiple governorates, including Aswan, Luxor, Qena, Minya, Port Said, and Cairo.

Conducting qualifying courses for doctors to obtain the International Diploma in Endoscopy from the University of Clermont-Ferrand, Paris, France. To date, approximately 10 doctors from Aswan and Luxor have successfully earned their diplomas.

The association regularly organizes one-day seminars to address various medical topics and advancements.

  • It provides qualifying courses for doctors to support their career advancement, particularly in fields such as infection control, quality assurance, fetal medicine, ultrasound imaging, and hospital management, among others.
  • The association has established partnerships and cooperation protocols with various scientific organizations and entities to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration.

  • The association has also sent delegations of doctors from South Upper Egypt to participate in joint scientific courses in Germany, Italy, and France.

Regional Training Programs

The association has organized training programs for doctors from Arab countries, including the UAE, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.

Academic Collaboration

The association collaborates with Egyptian research centers and universities, particularly the medical schools of:

  • South Valley University
  • Sohag University
  • Assiut University
  • Alexandria University
  • Additionally, it engages in scientific cooperation with the nursing faculties of Suez Canal University, Mansoura University, and Alexandria University.
